The Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey is a small graduate school offering master’s degree programs that will prepare students in finding solutions for tomorrow’s global challenges. Language and intercultural communication play a central role in every student’s experience at MIIS. Students represent more than 40 countries and 30 native languages. About a third of students at MIIS are international, and 28% of U.S. students are multicultural.

  • The Institute offers nine languages of study: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Korean, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.
  • Language and intercultural communication skills are emphasized in each of the degree programs.
