David Henderson is a seasoned trial lawyer, communications consultant, and CNBC Contributor. Henderson serves as a civil rights attorney at Ellwanger Law and is the Managing Partner of the firm’s Dallas office. He is an Adjunct Professor at The University of Texas at Austin where he teaches courses on advocacy skills, practice, and theory. Henderson has more than 20 years of experience in high-profile communication-based roles, including serving as a trial attorney during which he has tried over 70 jury cases to a verdict, ranging from to capital murder to human trafficking to civil cases. He is a Consultant at Spoken with Authority, a Washington D.C.-based presentation skills consultancy, and a legal analyst with hundreds of appearances on national networks.

EARLY CAREER
Previously, he served as an Associate at Vinson & Elkins, LLP, an international law firm with approximately 700 lawyers worldwide.
He later served as a Prosecutor in the Special Crimes Division of the Bexar County’s District Attorney’s office.
During his time at the DA’s Office, he was named local Criminal Justice Member of the Year and received the President’s Award for outstanding service from Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
He has also helped devise courtroom strategies for hundreds of proceedings.
His op-eds about anti-riot laws and qualified immunity have been published in the Washington Post and Newsweek.

Henderson is passionate about guiding, empowering, and inspiring professionals to be persuasive, engaging, and influential — especially in high-stakes situations.
Due to his exceptional communication and public speaking talents, he was invited by the Texas District and County Attorneys Association (TDCAA) to provide continuing education courses for other attorneys across the state.
He also joined Toastmasters International in 2007, and in 2010 he was named World Champion of Public Speaking in a competition of more than 30,000 elite speakers from 113 countries.
