Jason Mendelson
Jason Mendelson is a venture capitalist, entrepreneur, bestselling author, musician, and philanthropist. Jason is the Founding Partner of Foundry Group, a venture capital firm focused on the tech sector. In addition, he is also the Cofounder of SRS Acquiom, the most comprehensive platform to help people manage escrows, payments, risk, documents, and claims on M&A transactions. He has over 20 years of experience in the venture capital and technology industries in a multitude of investing, founding, operational and engineering roles. Prior to co-founding SRS, he was a Managing Director and General Counsel for Mobius Venture Capital, where he also acted as its chief administrative partner overseeing all operations of the firm. Before his legal career, Jason was a senior consultant and software engineer at Accenture where he focused on financial institution re-engineering engagements. Jason has spent the past decade as an Adjunct Professor at University of Colorado where he co-taught Venture Capital class with Brad Bernthal. He also goes by the name Jace Allen as a musician.

EARLY CAREER
At Mobius, he led fund formation activities and assisted portfolio companies with challenges dealing with high-stakes litigation, securities, employment, regulatory and intellectual property law.
He was an Attorney with Cooley, where he practised corporate and securities law with an emphasis on representation of emerging companies in private and public financings, mergers and acquisitions.
He is the co-author of Venture Deals, How to be Smarter than your Lawyer and Venture Capitalist and a former blogger on my own site and Ask The VC.
He has co-chaired the NVCA's General Counsel group and has been an active participant on the NVCA’s Chief Financial Officer group.
He was one of the key draftspersons for the NVCA model document task force, which created the industry’s first set of standardised venture capital financing documents.
