Jean-Guy Desjardins is the Chairman and Global CEO of Fiera Capital, a leading independent asset management firm. Desjardins is an asset management and asset allocation expert who has been a pioneer in the investment field since 1969. He has built two portfolio management companies that ranked among the largest in Canada over 40 years. Prior to Fiera, he co-founded TAL Global Asset Management in 1972 and was its principal shareholder until its acquisition in 2001. Desjardins also supports numerous organizations and social programs in his community.

EARLY CAREER
Desjardins started his career as a Financial Analyst and Portfolio Manager for a life insurance company.
He later co-founded TAL Global Asset Management, and was its principal shareholder until its purchase by a financial institution.
Desjardins was a member of the Bank of Canada’s Board of Directors for five years and was elected Lead Director in 2007.
He also served as Chairman of the special committee of the Bank’s independent directors responsible for recruiting governor Mark Carney.
