Nic Carter is a venture capitalist and internet entrepreneur. Nic is the Co-Founder and General Partner at Castle Island Ventures, a blockchain-focused venture capital firm specializing in public blockchains. He is also Co-Founder and Chairman of Coin Metrics, the leading provider of crypto financial intelligence to the most prestigious institutions using crypto assets. Nic combines practicality with a data-driven approach in determining how entrepreneurs can best interact with new institutions. He has written extensively about crypto asset governance models, token holder rights, and public blockchains as political institutions, and has served as a co-author of a number of papers covering topics such as Proof of Reserves, decentralized finance risks, and the emergence of stablecoins or crypto dollars. Nic was the first investment research analyst of crypto assets at Fidelity Investments, where he devised research perspectives on public blockchains.
