Preston Van Loon is the Ethereum Core Developer at Offchain Labs, a venture-backed, Princeton-founded company dedicated to blockchain research and development. Previously, he was the Co-Founder of Prysmatic Labs, one of the leading software teams behind Ethereum proof-of-stake, which was acquired by Offchain Labs in 2022. As the platform’s core developer, he focused on building mission-critical client software for Ethereum and L2 scaling efforts. He was also jointly responsible for leading and developing with an exceptional team of blockchain engineers to scale the Ethereum protocol with sharding and proof of stake.

EARLY CAREER
Before entering the blockchain space, Preston worked as a Software Engineer at Google, where he contributed to the Display & Video 360 platform.
He co-founded MachinePowered, where he specialized in developing scalable custom integrations for e-commerce platforms using AWS Lambda and Node.js.
Before that, he served as a Software Engineer at AlwaysBeListing, where he developed real-time e-commerce inventory for eBay and Shopify.
