Scott Kapnick is the Founder and CEO of HPS Investment Partners, one of the world's biggest alternative credit managers with more than $110 billion in assets. Prior to HPS, he was CEO and Chairman of the Executive Committee of Highbridge Capital Management, where he helped establish and grow the company’s presence in public and private credit. Previously, he spent 21 years at Goldman Sachs, rising to become Co-Head of Investment Banking and Co-CEO of Goldman Sachs International.
HPS was originally formed as a unit of Highbridge Capital Management, a subsidiary of J.P. Morgan Asset Management.
In 2016, the principals of HPS acquired the firm from J.P. Morgan, which retained Highbridge and the hedge fund strategies.
Under his leadership, HPS has become a leading global, credit-focused alternative investment firm.
