Common Law is a legal system that relies primarily on previous judicial decisions instead of comprehensive written rules.

- no comprehensive compilation of legal rules, regulations and statues
- common in the United Kingdom and it's past colonies
- opposite is Civil Law (popularized in the Unite State)
