Interest Rates and Business Profits are connected via arbitrage
No man will accept of low profits, where he can have high interest and no man will accept of low interest , where he can have high profits.
The idea behind this is that if businesses are earning high profits, investors will demand higher interest/returns on their investments (or they will invest in businesses are e instead).
