Founded in 2017 as Archain, the company rebranded to Arweave in 2018 while completing the Techstars Berlin mentorship program.
After raising $8.7 million through token sales, Arweave launched its mainnet in June 2018, followed by the introduction of the permaweb in 2019—a permanent, serverless web built on top of the Arweave network.
