Established in 2012, The Bitcoin Foundation is the longest established Bitcoin advocacy organization in the world. The Bitcoin Foundation was launched to make Bitcoin standards, protect the Bitcoin network and promote the use of Bitcoin for a larger audience. The foundation coordinates the efforts of the members in the Bitcoin community, helping to create awareness of the benefits of Bitcoin, how to use it and its related technology requirements, for technologists, regulators, the media and everyone globally.
