The iShares Core MSCI EAFE ETF is the younger, cheaper variation of BlackRock’s flagship iShares MSCI EAFE ETF. IEFA debuted in 2012 as part of the new ultra-low-cost iShares Core series, which was designed to attract buy-and-hold investors. The fund invests at least 90% of its assets in the component securities of the underlying index and in other investments with substantially identical components of the underlying index. IEFA seeks to track the investment results of large-, mid- and small-capitalization developed market equities, excluding the U.S. and Canada, generally including Europe, Australia, and the Far East.
