The University of Warsaw is the oldest Polish higher education institution, educating almost 48, 000 students. Over 400 study programs are offered at 20 faculties and 29 scientific and didactic units. The University is one of the leading research centers in the country. The heart of the university remains its historical main campus, in the center of Warsaw, which includes buildings dating back to the 17th century.

  • It is here that the piano genius, Fredric Chopin, studied.
  • Nobel prize winners: Henryk Sienkiewicz, Menachem Begin, Czesław Miłosz, Józef Rotblat and Leonid Hurwicz obtained their education here.
