Barry Silbert is the Founder and CEO of Digital Currency Group, a conglomerate of cryptocurrency-focused companies. DCG builds and supports Bitcoin and blockchain companies through its insights, network, and access to capital. The company’s biggest revenue generator is digital asset manager Grayscale Investments, which oversees $28 billion worth of Bitcoin, Ether, and other assets. Barry is a pioneer in the crypto industry. Starting in 2012, he became one of the first and most active investors in the Bitcoin space, providing seed funding for Coinbase, Ripple, BitPay, and a number of other companies who have gone on to define the industry. Prior to DCG, Barry founded SecondMarket, which was acquired by Nasdaq in 2015.
