Ben Appen

Ben Appen is a Founding Partner and Chief Executive Officer at Magnitude Capital. He oversees day-to-day firm operations and jointly manages the investment process, including sourcing, evaluation, monitoring and measurement, decision-making, and risk oversight functions. Prior to this, Appen served as Senior Vice President at D. E. Shaw. He co-founded and managed the firm’s fund of funds business. He also oversaw the evaluation of investment strategies, manager selection, and quantitative research. Appen has been a guest lecturer at Columbia University and New York University and speaks about hedge funds.
