David Collins is the Founder and Managing Director of Catalyst IR, an investor relations, corporate communications consultancy advising public and pre-public companies. He launched Catalyst to focus on providing expert client counsel & service – not just more of what passes for IR but lacks thought, innovation, impact or value. David brings deep capital markets understanding, expertise and relationships to his role in developing and executing impactful IR programs. He also oversees Catalyst’s strategy development and implementation of all client programs. With more than 30 years of accomplishment advising hundreds of companies on investor relations, communications and capital markets strategies, David dives into tough issues with passion, experience, clarity and persistence, tackling issues that affect valuation and create value. He is an investor relations, social media pragmatist who is also a frequent writer and speaker on IR issues.

Academic History

  • Most notably, he advised Marvel Entertainment on its IR program for 10 years, from its emergence from bankruptcy through to its sale to Disney.

  • Catalyst IR brings solutions to the growing visibility and engagement challenges of small- and micro-cap companies.

  • David launched Catalyst in 2012 after leaving Jaffoni & Collins, a New York IR consultancy firm he co-founded in 1994, rebranded as JCIR.

  • He is the President and CFO of Weekly World News, leading the firm's franchise online and across all media forms.

  • He was previously a Vice President at Dewe Rogerson, a global IR firm; and a Director at Kehoe, White Savage & Company, a pioneering IR boutique.

  • He was also a Marketing Associate at investment bank Ladenburg Thalmann, where he provided post deal support and communications.

  • Throughout his career, he acquired various accomplishments in the fields of capital markets, investor relations and corporate communications.
