Filippo Franchini is the Technical Educator at the Web3 Foundation, an organization that aims to nurture and steward technologies and applications in the fields of decentralized web software protocols. He is a strong believer in the Web3 vision of having a privacy-focused secure, decentralized internet where power is given back to the users. He leads the Web3 Foundation by educating professionals and the general public about Web3 and blockchain technology. Prior to joining the foundation in 2022, he acquired 6 years of experience in teaching statistical computing and data analysis. He was a Project Manager at Insel Gruppe, where he managed a multi-cohort project in pharmacogenetics focused on finding genetic variants that are predictive of renal impairment.
EARLY CAREER
He was a Tutor in Statistics and GIS at the University of St Andrews, and a Co-Supervisor and External Examiner at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland.
He was the Co-Founder of earflydrones, involved in the design, construction, program, test and certification of the first acoustic multi-rotor drone.
He was a Data Scientist for the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland and a Special Force Command at the Swiss Armed Forces.
