Lyndon Lea is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Lion Capital, a consumer-focused investment firm based in London. He is also a Member of the firm’s Investment Committee. Lea rose to prominence as a private equity investor in the consumer goods sector by both investing in and engaging with the management of some of the finest consumer brands in the world. Prior to co-founding Lion Capital in 2004, Lea served as a Partner at Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst, where he played an integral role in establishing its European operations in 1998.

Academic History

  • Lea was born in the UK, in the north of England.
  • At the age of six, his family moved to South Africa then Canada.
  • He started his career in New York at Goldman Sachs and did a two-year analyst program there before returning back to the UK in 1992.
  • He spends a significant period of time in the US focused on his business in the country, although the UK is still his home.
  • He is a strong supporter of Not For Sale, a charity dedicated to the abolition of modern-day slavery. He currently sits on the Board of NFS.
