Matthew Rowlinson is President and CEO of Solaris Resources, a copper-gold exploration and development company based in Zug, Switzerland. Rowlinson has well-rounded leadership expertise across operations, mergers and acquisitions and portfolio management, with an in-depth knowledge of the global copper market. Prior to joining Solaris, he was most recently Head of Copper Business Development at Glencore, one of the world’s largest copper miners, where he was jointly responsible for the strategic direction of one of the largest copper portfolios in the sector and developed deep knowledge of the industry and global inventory of projects. Earlier in his career, he was an Audit Executive for Ernst & Young, responsible for multinational mining and financial companies.

  • Rowlinson spent 11 years at Glencore where he gained extensive experience from senior executive roles within the company's copper department.

  • He joined Glencore in 2013 as an Asset Manager for Latin America and was subsequently appointed Chief Financial Officer for Copper Americas.

  • He successfully executed multiple public and private M&A transactions, highlighted by Glencore’s consolidation of the global scale MARA project.

  • He co-led the strategic management of Glencore’s extensive copper portfolio, one of the largest in the industry.
