- His father was a money manager and encouraged his interest in stock prices at the young age of 12.
- After college, he worked in John Bush and Co. and was trained to be a broker and researcher.
- John Bush taught him how to look at stocks and he spent the next few years searching for good companies to invest in.
- He moved to Hong Kong in 1985 and has since been investing in Asia and developing himself as a value investor.
