Steven Fischler is the Co-Owner and Chief Investment Officer of RMWC. He manages the firm’s real estate investment strategies and oversees the origination, underwriting, and asset management team. Fischler also established SRF Ventures, a boutique real estate advisory firm, and New Gables Capital, a private commercial real estate lender. Since 2011, he has successfully built both enterprises by advising on, asset managing, and originating over $2.7 billion of real estate loans and investments.

Fischler started his career at Lehman Brothers in 2004 and worked in the commercial real estate group until 2011.
After Lehman’s bankruptcy in September 2008, he was retained by the bankruptcy experts managing the Lehman Estate to specialize in condominium and mixed-use project workouts.
He completed workouts, restructurings, foreclosures, and recovery strategies on Lehman’s investment properties, including:
- condominiums;
- multi-family;
- hospitality;
- retail;
- golf courses; and
- other types of commercial real estate across the United States.
From 2008 to 2011, he managed over 200 investments and oversaw some of the most complicated Lehman real estate investments, where he:
- completed a deed-in-lieu of foreclosure;
- restarted a sales and marketing campaign to sell the unsold condominium units;
- implemented a seller financing program; and
- restructured the hotel management agreement with Canyon Ranch.
