Energy Fuels is the country’s largest producer of uranium and the leading conventional producer of vanadium, both designated by the U.S. government as critical minerals. Energy Fuels is recognized among commercial and government stakeholders as a leading force in the creation of a U.S.-based, globally competitive, profitable, and strategic domestic supply chain for processed critical materials, including uranium, rare earths, vanadium, and titanium and zirconium minerals. Energy Fuels also owns the White Mesa Mill in Utah, which is the only fully licensed and operating conventional uranium processing facility in the United States.
ABOUT ENERGY FUELS
Energy Fuels is a leading US producer of uranium, rare earth metals, and other critical minerals.
The company is currently the largest U.S. uranium provider, supplying American nuclear energy utilities with the first step in the zero-emissions nuclear energy fuel cycle.
Headquartered in Lakewood, Colorado, the company operates the only licensed conventional uranium mill in the U.S., the White Mesa Mill in Utah. This facility processes uranium ore from various mines across the western U.S., including Colorado, Utah, and Arizona.
WHITE MESA MILL
The White Mesa Mill Utah is the only fully licensed and operating conventional uranium mill in the United States.
White Mesa Mill is a significant producer of high-purity vanadium, a critical metal used in steel manufacturing and emerging battery technologies.
It also serves as a critical facility for uranium processing, contributing significantly to the nation's nuclear fuel supply.
In 2024, the mill achieved commercial production of separated rare earth elements, including neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium, and terbium.
CORE OPERATIONS
Uranium Production.
White Mesa Hill is licensed to produce over 8 million pounds of uranium annually, processing uranium ore from various mines across the western U.S., including Colorado, Utah, and Arizona.
Vanadium Production.
Energy Fuels is the only primary vanadium producer in North America. Vanadium is a critical mineral used in high-strength steel and energy storage systems.
Rare Earth Elements.
The mill processes monazite sands to recover uranium and produce a mixed REE carbonate. In 2024, Energy Fuels achieved commercial production of separated neodymium-praseodymium (NdPr) oxide, a key material for electric vehicle (EV) magnets.
Medical Isotopes.
Energy Fuels is evaluating the potential to recover radioisotopes from its process streams for use in emerging cancer treatments.
