Alan Higgins is Managing Director of Global Markets and Chief Investment Officer at Coutts, a leading private bank and wealth manager. He is responsible for the management of the UK based discretionary managed portfolios and contributing towards global investment strategy for the major asset classes. During his time at Coutts, he has held a variety of roles including Chief Investment Officer, Head of Investment Strategy and Head of Multi-Asset Investing. Higgins has over 25 years of experience in portfolio management. Prior to Coutts, he worked at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management where he specialized in asset allocation, fixed income and alternative investments. His previous experience includes senior roles in fixed income portfolio management and working for a multi-strategy hedge fund.

EARLY CAREER
Higgins was a Non-Executive Director at Nestle Capital Management, where he served in the in-house pension fund management for the company.
He was involved in alternative investments, asset allocation, and fixed income at Morgan Stanley.
His asset management roles began in fixed income with both macro and credit investing, with a subsequent focus on multi-asset class portfolios.
