Arthur Breitman is Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Tezos, a decentralized open-source blockchain that governs itself by establishing a true digital commonwealth. He created Tezos as a public blockchain enabling decentralized governance through self-amendments. Previously, Arthur was a Research Engineer for Google and Waymo. In his early career, he worked as a Quantitative Analyst for Goldman Sachs, Vice President for Morgan Stanley, and Portfolio Manager for White Bay Group. Arthur studied applied mathematics, computer science, and physics in France and Financial Mathematics at New York University under Nassim Nicholas Taleb before working in quantitative finance.

EARLY CAREER AND EXPERTISE

  • Arthur is an early architect of the Tezos protocol, a cryptocurrency aimed at solving the problem of governance within the blockchain.

  • Prior to becoming involved in Tezos full time, he worked at X and Waymo on self-driving cars.

  • He was the leader of an anarcho-capitalist group in New York, and was a follower of Patri Friedman, the founder of The Seasteading Institute.
