Under his leadership, Electric Capital has become one of the largest global VC firms focused on distributed systems, cryptography, applications of blockchain, and privacy preserving technologies. Avichal is a successful serial entrepreneur with executive leadership experience at Google and Facebook, which acquired his company. At Facebook, he served as Director of Product Management for the Local product group, a team of 400 engineers responsible for billions in revenue.

EARLY CAREER
Avichal played pivotal roles in companies like Google and Facebook, where his entrepreneurial journey reached new heights.
At Facebook, he led product for the Local group which includes Pages, Location Infrastructure, Entities, Events, Local Search, and more.
He was the Co-Founder and CTO of PrepMe, the builder of the first online adaptive learning and testing engine for students which was acquired by Hobson's, the education subsidiary of The Daily Mail Group.
As a Product Manager for Google, he worked on search quality, ads quality, and started Google Transit, now a part of Google Maps.
Prior to Electric, Avichal was an investor in crypto projects such as Anchorage, Bitwise, Celo, dYdX, Lightning Labs, and OpenSea and unicorns such as Airtable, Boom Supersonic, Color Genomics, Cruise, Deel, Figma, Material Security, Newfront Insurance, Notion, Nova Credit, and Pulley.
