Chase Coleman III is the Founder and Partner at Tiger Global Management, an investment firm that manages over $50 billion across public and private equity strategies. Coleman is one of the best hedge fund managers of his generation and is one of the Tiger Cubs–managers who previously worked for Julian Robertson’s Tiger Management. He is best known for spotting big winners early on, making notable investments in Spotify; Facebook, now Meta Platforms; and LinkedIn, now owned by Microsoft.
At age 24, Coleman founded Tiger Global Management with starting capital from his former boss and mentor, the iconic hedge fund manager Julian Robertson.
He parlayed this seed money of $25 million into one of the world's most successful hedge fund empires.
Under his leadership, the firm pursues a long-term approach to investing in leading, global public and private companies that leverage technological innovation.
Scott Shleifer joined Tiger Global in 2002 and co-founded its venture business a year later, which he still leads.
EARLY CAREER
He was also an early investor in Facebook, which made his fund nearly $1 billion.
He has been described by New York Magazine as having “the unique distinction of being both old and new money rich”.
