Endowment

An endowment is the capital that provides income for an institution, a kind of donation of money or property to a non-profit organization resulting in investment income. It is a financial vehicle that drives non-profit organizations, Endowments tend to be organized as a trust, a private foundation, or a public charity. An endowment fund will have an investment, withdrawal and usage policy, established by a foundation that makes consistent withdrawals from invested capital.
