Christophe Tanghe is Managing Director and Head of Aventicum Real Estate, a real estate private equity investment management joint venture with Credit Suisse and the Qatar Investment Authority. Christophe is a Senior Principal of the firm’s real estate division, responsible for managing all of Aventicum’s real estate activities. He has over 30 years of experience in real estate and private equity investment, investment and fund management, operations, development and advisory expertise. Prior to joining Aventicum, he held several senior positions at ING, a pioneer in digital banking and on the forefront being one of the most innovative banks in the world. Christophe also held leadership roles at Hines, Lehman Brothers, Security Capital, and JP Morgan. In addition to his corporate responsibilities, he is the Founder of Human Rights Watch, one of the world's leading independent organizations dedicated to defending and protecting human rights.
At Aventicum, Christophe is the Chairman of the Investment and Screening Committee, and Member of the Board of Directors of the General Partner.
At ING, he was a Member of the Real Estate Executive Committee, Global Management Board, and Head of Strategy and RestructurING.
At Hines, Christophe was part of the Development and Investment Management division within Europe.
Christophe was Managing Director and Principal at Lehman Brothers, where he was responsible for acquisitions within Europe.
He was Managing Director and Head of Acquisitions at Security Capital European Realty, a real estate private equity fund.
He was a Managing Director at JP Morgan, where he specialized in corporate finance, investment banking, and M&A, among others.
He received a BA in Economics and International Finance from the Universitaire Fakulteiten Sint Ignatius in Antwerp, Belgium.
