Gary is a seasoned portfolio manager and hedge fund investor with over 30 years of experience in the securities industry. He is well-recognized for his creative contrarian thinking and specialization in communicating unique ideas to sophisticated investors. Gary spent much of his career executing hedge fund strategies, including long/short, concentrated and special situations. Previously, he served as Managing Partner and Senior Portfolio Manager for Silver Arrow Investment Management, a concentrated long-only hedge fund with options-based hedging.

EARLY CAREER
Gary started his career in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department of Morgan Stanley.
He spent 3 years doing long/short equity investing at Brahman Capital. While at Brahman Capital, he was responsible for the healthcare portfolio and he helped raise firm performance by approximately 64%.
Later on, he worked for Doug Hirsch for 4 years, first at Smith New Court, and was asked by Doug to join him in starting Seneca Capital.
He spent 3 years in long/short equity investing at Brahman Capital, and then moved to John Levin & Co. where he had investment discretion and made the firm money in all 15 investments made.
