Jonathon Jacobson is the Non-Executive Chairman of HighSage Ventures, a private investment firm managing his family’s capital. A highly respected hedge fund manager, Jacobson has built an illustrious 30-year career as a professional investor. Before founding HighSage, he was the Founder, Chief Investment Officer, and CEO of Highfields Capital Management, a leading value-oriented hedge fund and investment management firm. Earlier in his career, he served as a Senior Portfolio Manager at Harvard Management Company and held investment banking roles at Lehman Brothers in New York and Merrill Lynch Capital Markets in both New York and Sydney, Australia. Beyond his investment work, Jacobson is actively involved in philanthropic initiatives and has supported numerous educational and charitable institutions.

Jacobson is a former Director of iHeartMedia, Inc. and iHeartCommunications, Inc.,
He formerly served on the Investment Committee of the Weizmann Global Endowment Management Trust and the Board of Dean’s Advisors at Harvard Business School.
He is a past member of the Asset Managers' Committee of the President's Working Group on Financial Markets, formed in 2007 to foster a dialogue with the Federal Reserve Board and Department of the Treasury on issues of significance to the investment industry.
Prior to HighSage Ventures, he was an Assistant Head Coach and Senior Advisor of UNC Charlotte Football.
