Lawrence Calcano is the Chairman and CEO of iCapital, the leading global fintech platform powering the world's alternative investment marketplace. With over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, Calcano is a seasoned executive with deep expertise in investment banking, technology, and alternative investments. Prior to iCapital, he was a Partner and Managing Director at Goldman Sachs for over seventeen years, including serving as the Co-Head of the Global Technology Banking Group within the Investment Banking Division. He was responsible for all aspects of technology financing for the internet, digital and e-commerce, software, services & hardware client businesses. Before that, he began his career at Morgan Stanley. Outside of technology, Calcano’s other passion is mental health and wellbeing.

Since joining iCapital, he has led the strategic vision and guidance that has defined the firm as a leading fintech provider.
He began advising and working with iCapital shortly after its 2013 founding, leading key strategic and business development initiatives before joining full time as CEO in early 2014.
Under his leadership, iCapital now services more than $200 billion in client assets on the platform across more than 1,650 funds from over 600 fund managers, issuers, and insurance carriers.
He also led the firm's massive funding round by Goldman Sachs, BlackRock, The Blackstone Group, UBS, and BNY Mellon as participating investors.
