Mara Schmiedt is the Co-Founder and CEO of Alluvial Finance, the creator of the enterprise and institution-focused Liquid Collective. In her role, she leads a team dedicated to improving blockchain infrastructure, aiming to make it more accessible and sustainable for enterprises and individual users alike. Prior to Alluvial, Mara served as Head of Sales for Coinbase Cloud, the leading developer platform for blockchain-based infrastructure products and APIs. She expanded Cloud’s staking business, supporting large-scale organizations, enterprises, and institutional investors. She also served as Strategy Manager at ConsenSys, where she supported the strategic development of Codefi, the blockchain application suite for Web3 Commerce and Finance. Mara is passionate about open-source technology and has published multiple research reports and papers on liquid staking. She is also a strategic angel investor in over 15 projects.

Prior to her role as CEO, Mara was Alluvial's Chief Growth Officer, focusing on advancing industry participation and adoption of Liquid Collective.
She worked on world class partnership opportunities and oversaw the firm's Business Development, Sales, and other strategic functions.
Alluvial works with clients like Coinbase, Bitcoin Suisse, Figment and six other crypto platforms to stake ether for their users.

EARLY CAREER
Prior to joining Coinbase, Mara managed Business Development at Bison Trails, a leading provider of blockchain-based infrastructure acquired by Coinbase.
She served as Strategy Manager at ConsenSys, where she supported the strategic development of Codefi, the blockchain application suite for Web3 Commerce and Finance.
She has published research papers such as The Internet Bond and Ethereum 2.0 Staking Ecosystem Report.
She also led a working group with the Ethereum Foundation that developed the Ethereum Launchpad and the first DVT proof of concepts.
Prior to joining fintech companies, she was a Management Consultant for PricewaterhouseCooper.
