Marc Brooks is Managing Director of Origination at RMWC, a commercial real estate lender that provides mortgages, mezzanine, and preferred equity capital to clients. In his role, Marc is responsible for originating new real estate credit opportunities for the firm. With more than 23 years of industry experience, he is known to be a senior commercial real estate executive with expertise in originations, execution/underwriting, and asset management on bridge financings, subordinate debt and opportunistic acquisitions for existing properties and new construction. He also has transaction experience across all property types and subtypes nationally. Prior to joining RMWC in 2020, Marc was an Executive Director at Prudential Global Investment Management where he focused on originating, underwriting and asset managing commercial real estate credit investments with total origination of approximately $800M.
He was a Managing Director of New Gables Capital and Originator at Lotus Capital, where he executed Capital advisory assignments.
He was a Consultant with Pine River, where he was involved in mixed-use redevelopment, hotel rebranding, and affordable multi-family portfolio.
He was a Director with FrontView, where he managed a team of 3 underwriters in preparing valuations and financial analyses.
He was previously with The Carlyle Group where he worked on acquiring over $800M of commercial real estate assets.
With CWCapital, he closed over $600M of first mortgage and sub-debt investments across all property types.
With Deutsche Bank, he originated and underwrote over $200 million of commercial real estate investments across the capital stack.
He was also a Senior Consultant for CBRE, where he analyzed the financial implications of a broad range of transaction structures.
He holds an M.B.A. from Columbia University Business School, Beta Gamma Sigma, where he graduated with honors, and a B.A. from Duke university, Cum Laude.
