Mike Vranos is the Founder and CEO of Ellington Management Group, a leading investment management firm he founded to capitalize on distressed conditions in the MBS derivatives market. Vranos is a prominent figure in the mortgage bond trading industry renowned for his expertise in financial innovation and risk management. Previously, he was the Senior Managing Director of Kidder Peabody responsible for MBS trading. Under his leadership, the firm's MBS department became a leader on Wall Street in CMO underwriting for three years. He began his Wall Street career in 1983. Vranos also plays an active role in the community, giving his time and energy to a number of worthy charities and educational institutions.
Vranos has built his company and its subsidiaries into key entities in collateralized mortgage obligation investing over the past 20 years.
