Moritz Seibert is the Founder and CEO of Takahē Capital, a quantitative investment manager focused on resilient, systematic trading strategies. He is also the Co-Founder of Two Quants, a publisher of quant-minded and independent research reports. Seibert is an experienced professional in quantitative portfolio management across equities, commodities, bonds, FX, digital assets, and liquid alternatives. Most recently, he was Chief Investment Officer of Exponential Age Asset Management, an investment management firm focused on the blockchain and digital asset space. Before that, he served as CEO and Chief Investment Officer of Munich Re, a quantitative asset management company serving institutional clients globally.
EARLY CAREER
He started his investing career in 1998. He became a derivatives trader in HSBC in Germany.
Later, he worked for RBS in the UK as well as in the USA, where he was responsible for the bank’s equity derivatives structuring business.
Subsequent to RBS, Moritz co-founded Aquantum, a Munich-based systematic CTA focused on short-term trend following and commodity spread trading strategies.
He was a Partner at AIM Capital, a systematic trend following CTA, and a Senior Portfolio Manager at Union Investment, the investment arm of the DZ Bank Group.
