Scott Kupor is the Managing Partner of Andreessen Horowitz, where he is responsible for all operational aspects of running the firm, offering firsthand experiences and insider advice for every entrepreneur trying to secure venture capital funding. Kupor has been with a16z since its inception in 2009 and has overseen the firm’s growth from $300 million in AUM to more than $30 billion. Previously, he worked as Vice President and General Manager of Software-as-a-Service at Hewlett Packard. Before that, he held numerous executive management positions at Opsware, including senior vice president of global field operations, vice president of financial planning and vice president of corporate development. Prior to Opsware, he represented software companies in both financing and mergers and acquisitions transactions at Credit Suisse First Boston and Lehman Brothers. Kupor is the author of the national bestselling book Secrets of Sand Hill Road: Venture Capital and How to Get It. He is also a Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Stanford Venture Capital Director's College and teaches venture capital and corporate governance courses at Stanford Law School and the Haas School of Business and Boalt School of Law at UC Berkeley.
