Sharon Marcil is Managing Director, Senior Partner, and Chair of Boston Consulting Group's North American Region. In her role as Regional Chair, Sharon oversees the operations in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Additionally, she is the Chair of BCG FED, the entity that runs the US Federal Government business for the firm. Since joining BCG in 1993, she has led transformation efforts at the world's largest private and public sector organizations. She has been a leader in bringing corporate best practice to the federal government sector—helping change agents in government lead transformation efforts at many agencies. Sharon has also worked with the Partnership for Public Service’s Center for Presidential Transition since 2011. Sharon was recognized as one of the Top 25 Most Influential Consultants by Consulting magazine for driving fundamental transformation for clients and pioneering new approaches at BCG. Prior to joining BCG, Sharon worked for Goldman Sachs & Co. in mergers and acquisitions.
Sharon is the first woman to be appointed North America Regional Chari at BCG, a global management consulting firm.
She also serves as BCG's Chief Marketing Officer, the Global Chair of the Client Team, and a member of BCG's Executive and Operating Committees.
She has worked with the Partnership for Public Service’s Center for Presidential Transition since 2011 and serves on the Partnership’s board of directors.
At BCG, she led the charge in assisting the largest global health care and consumer companies on post-merger integrations and restructuring.
In the public sector, Sharon assists key entities with transformation and restructuring efforts.
Prior to her current roles, she served as the Head of Global Marketing and the Global Client Team. She also ran the BCG Global Consumer business.
She was also previously leader of BCG's North America public sector practice and global leader of the consumer and retail practice.
She was the leader of Women@BCG affinity group, driving comprehensive progress in recruiting, retaining and elevating women to leadership.
She received her MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School, and BA in Economics, magna cum laude, from Duke University.
