Stu Alderoty is the Chief Legal Officer at Ripple, the leading provider of digital asset infrastructure for financial services, where he oversees the legal, compliance and regulation departments. Alderoty has more than 30 years of legal experience with expertise in financial services and regulatory affairs. Prior to joining Ripple, he served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of CIT, a leading financial institution, where he was responsible for all legal, corporate governance and insurance risk management matters. Before that, he was Executive Vice President and General Counsel for HSBC North America.

Alderoty was General Counsel and Executive Vice President at CIT, where he was responsible for all legal, corporate governance and insurance risk management matters.
Before that, he was a Managing Counsel at American Express, where he served on the leadership team of the President and CEO of AMEX's Consumer Card Business.
He started his career in private practice and was a partner with the international law firm of LeBouef, Lamb, Greene and MacRae where he specialized in complex litigation.
