Stuart Alderoty is the Chief Legal Officer of Ripple, a provider of leading enterprise blockchain solutions for global payments. In his role, Alderoty leads the legal, regulatory, and compliance efforts of the company. Alderoty has over 30 years of legal expertise in banking and regulatory affairs. Prior to joining Ripple, he served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of CIT, a leading financial institution, where he was responsible for all legal, corporate governance and insurance risk management matters. Before that, he was Executive Vice President and General Counsel for HSBC North America.

Alderoty has been General Counsel and part of the executive leadership teams at CIT and HSBC North America.
He was Managing Counsel at American Express and served on the leadership team of the President and CEO of the U.S. consumer business.
Before that, he was a Partner with the law firm of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae, specializing in litigation.
