Tom Claugus is the President and Senior Portfolio Manager of GMT Capital, a hedge fund company he founded in 1993. His innovative, data-driven approach has earned superior returns for his investors and received widespread recognition. Unlike most value investors who begin with a bottom-up process, Claugus first looks for extremes in statistical valuation to identify sectors and markets that may be mispriced. A chemical engineer by training, Claugus spent 17 years with Rohm and Haas Company, where he worked in Mexico, Europe, and the United States.
