FAANG is an Acronym for the group of high-flying tech stocks including Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix and Google

FAANG Includes


  • FAANGS grew rapidly in size, revenue and market cap in the late 2010s
  • FAANGS rapidly grew their R&D expenditures from 6billion to 94 bilion since the 2008 reession


FAANG Criticisms

  • As of 2018 they have picked most of the low hanging fruit (2018)
  • They have transformed markets and are big enough where it is harder to grow faster than the economy going forward (2018)
  • They have grown big enough that they need to start competing with each other in competitive markets
