Non Tariff Barriers are subtle forms of discrimination that countries uses against foreign goods in support of domestic produceres
- Often are protectionist in purpose and far-fetched
- Have slowly been removed over time along with WTO trade agreements (far fewer in 2018 than 1970s)

- Health and Safety Regulations biased against foreign suppliers
- Permit or License requirements that are rarely granted or delayed
- "Buy National" government procurement rules
