Big Green
The Big Green is the operator of a community platform designed to build learning gardens in every low-income school across the country. Since 2012, Big Green has been teaching people to grow food, improve nutrition security and mental health, increase time spent outdoors, and cultivate a deeper appreciation for our collective impact on the climate. A combination of playground and outdoor classroom, the learning gardens are spaces where learners discover and get trained on the science of growing fruits and vegetables.
The Big Green DAO is the first non-profit led philanthropic DAO that represents the coming together of an age-old philanthropic model and a novel approach to social organization.
The DAO operates as an autonomous grant-making community designed to fund philanthropic work in a way that empowers frontline workers.
The Big Green DAO committee is made up of organizations working in food and tech.
