A land and sea grant institution, University of Georgia is America’s first state-chartered university. It is also the birthplace of the American system of public higher education. At UGA, about 86% of undergraduates get a piece of the $239 million in grant and scholarship aid. It houses 17 colleges, including the Eugene Odom School of Ecology, the only school dedicated exclusively to ecology in the country.
