Buck Wiley III is Managing Director and Wealth Advisor of The Wiley Team at Merrill Private Wealth Management. He joined Merrill Lynch in 2001 and later established The Wiley Team within Merrill Private Wealth Management to focus on the investment needs of affluent families, endowments, and institutions. He directs the team's client offerings, including investment planning, portfolio management, asset allocation, and income management. Wiley has extensive experience in the fields of private equity, with focus on emerging economies and the financial implications of mergers, acquisitions and corporate finance. In 2012, he gained accreditation as a Global Institutional Consultant, one of approximately 100 advisors in the firm who are designated to deliver a range of investment consulting services to institutional clients. He has been continuously recognized by major industry publications, and also serves on various volunteer capacities for the community.
EARLY CAREER
Wiley started his corporate career in Europe as an international tax lawyer with KPMG.
Subsequently, he worked at SUN Capital Partners, a London-based private equity firm.
At SUN, he led a team that specialized in the analysis and execution of corporate acquisitions across Eastern Europe.
During his tenure in private equity, he served on the Board of Directors of a number of international entities, including Coca-Cola, Vladivostok Russia, and an emerging markets hedge fund.
