Andrew Whitworth is a crypto, fintech, and tech policy advisor and researcher. He is the Co-Founder of ICDEF, Visiting Fellow at the EUI, and Founder of Global Policy, an independent consultancy for crypto, fintech. Whitworth is a public policy specialist with extensive international experience in financial services, payments and fintech policy and regulation. Previously, he served as Policy Director at Ripple, the leader in enterprise blockchain and crypto solutions, where he led the firm’s engagement with policymakers in the UK, EU, Middle East, and Africa.

EARLY CAREER
Whitworth works in public policy in the cryptocurrency space, specifically on UK and EU policy development.
Prior to Ripple, he led the policy work of a UK-headquartered fintech payments start-up.
He was a Senior FinTech Specialist at the Bank of England, where he helped analyze and develop prudential policy for the traditional finance sector and the fintech/crypto space.
He started his career in Brussels working in the EU public and private sectors.
