Bill George is an Executive Education Fellow at Harvard Business School and formerly served as a Professor of Management Practice and Senior Fellow, teaching leadership from 2004 to 2022. He is best known for his tenure as Chair and CEO of Medtronic, where he oversaw the company’s transformation into the world’s leading medical technology enterprise, growing its market capitalization from $1.1 billion to $60 billion. Earlier in his career, he was an Executive with Honeywell and Litton Industries and served in the U.S. Department of Defense.
He has received honorary doctorates from Georgia Tech, Mayo Medical School, University of St. Thomas, Augsburg College, and Bryant University.
