Christian Thompson is the Managing Director of the Sui Foundation, the independent organization supporting the growth, development, and global adoption of the Sui blockchain. Under his leadership, the foundation has accelerated Sui’s mission to become a gateway for the next billion users in Web3, advancing strategic initiatives across decentralized finance, blockchain gaming, and institutional adoption. Thompson is a respected leader in the blockchain and cybersecurity space, with a career that spans technology, finance, and community-driven innovation. Prior to joining the Sui Foundation, Thompson served as Chief Information Security Officer at Mysten Labs, the primary contributor to the Sui blockchain, where he oversaw security strategy for the protocol and its supporting infrastructure. Before that, he was Deputy Chief Information Security Officer at Meta, where he was responsible for securing fintech platforms and global revenue systems. During his tenure at Meta, he also led blockchain security initiatives for Novi, Diem, and NFT-related projects within Facebook, placing him at the center of some of the most prominent enterprise blockchain efforts to date.

EARLY CAREER

  • Christian Thompson brings extensive experience across cybersecurity, blockchain infrastructure, financial services, and technology entrepreneurship.

  • Prior to his role at the Sui Foundation, Thompson served as Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at Mysten Labs, where he led security and solutions engineering for both Mysten and the Sui ecosystem.

  • Previously, he was Deputy Chief Information Security Officer at Meta, where he played a key role in the company’s blockchain and digital asset initiatives.

  • He was an early contributor to the Diem project and helped develop blockchain-based financial systems, while also overseeing Meta’s global data center security strategy, securing platform revenue infrastructure, and working closely with regulators worldwide.

  • Before entering the technology sector, Thompson founded Knowledge Preserve and OnDetail, both of which achieved successful exits.

  • Earlier in his career, he served in law enforcement as a Homicide Detective and SWAT Commander, earning multiple commendations for leadership and operational excellence.

  • In addition, Thompson founded and led The Capital Quorum for nine years and previously served as Vice President of a multinational holding company generating more than $50 million in annual revenue.
