Christian Thompson is Managing Director of the Sui Foundation, an independent organization that supports the advancement and adoption of the Sui blockchain. As the leader of the foundation, he aims to build engagement among enthusiasts, developers, and Sui’s growing global community. Thompson is a significant figure in the blockchain space with a background in technology, finance, and community engagement. Prior to joining the foundation, he was Chief Information Security Officer at Mysten Labs, the primary contributor to the Sui Foundation. He was formerly Deputy Chief Information Security Officer at Meta, where he was an early contributor to Meta’s Diem project and instrumental in developing blockchain-based financial systems. Thompson also has leadership experience across various industries, including successful careers in entrepreneurship and law enforcement.

EARLY CAREER
Thompson has over three decades of leadership experience across multiple industries, including tech, finance, and community engagement.
He spent nearly five years at Meta where he served as Head of Blockchain Security for its Libra/Diem project and later as the company’s Deputy Chief Information Security Officer.
He oversaw Meta’s global data center security strategy, secured platform revenue, and worked closely with global regulatory bodies.
Before tech, Thomspson founded Knowledge Preserve and OnDetail, each with successful exits, and served as a Homicide Detective and SWAT Commander, earning multiple awards.
In finance, Christian founded and led The Capital Quorum for nine years, and before that, was Vice President of a multinational holding company with over $50M in annual revenue.
He also co-founded The Capitola Public Safety and Community Service Foundation.
