Douglas Freeman provides strategic planning and organizational management advice for business, nonprofit, foundation, high net-worth family and individual clients, and public charities. A noted retired tax attorney and founder of the Los Angeles based law firm, Freeman, Freeman & Smiley, LLP, he also serves as a Chairman of the Board for the Literacy Project Foundation, and a Life Director of both the California Institute of the Arts and Orange County’s Pacific Symphony. He is a former Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the University of California, Irvine Foundation and currently chairs its $1 billion campaign. He also serves as Adjunct Professor of Law at the UCI School of Law, where he teaches a course in the Organization, Management and Tax Aspects of Public Charities and Private Foundations.
