Greg Tusar is Vice President of Institutional Products at Coinbase, leading the development of the firm's efforts in areas such as Prime Brokerage and Custody, Financing, and its Exchange. He joined the digital currency platform after its acquisition of Tagomi, a leading crypto prime brokerage firm he co-founded in 2018. Tusar is a senior executive with over three decades of experience in securities trading and technology. Prior to Tagomi, he was Head of Client Market Making and Execution Services at KCG Holdings, now part of Virtu, responsible for wholesale market making and algorithmic trading among other groups. Before that, he spent 13 years at Goldman Sachs, most recently as a Partner and global head of the firm’s equities electronic trading business. He also helped Goldman Sachs expand its electronic trading franchise, working closely with institutions to help improve their execution costs, and helping the firm invest in and shape industry infrastructure including several exchanges and technology providers.

EARLY CAREER

  • He took a lead role in recasting KCG's strategy through refocusing on new business units, building up ETF sales and trading, and refining firm-wide recruiting.

  • He spent seven years at TLW Securities, most recently as CEO, and a Vice Chairman Per Scholas.

  • He began his career at Mentor Graphics, an electronic design automation firm.
