Jan Brzeski is the Founder and Managing Director of Arixa Capital, a leading private real estate lender and alternative investment manager, where he is responsible for the firm's investment strategy, risk management, and operations. Under his leadership, Arixa has become one of the West Coast's premier non-bank real estate lenders, providing small balance loan solutions to lower middle market residential and commercial investors and developers. Brzeski has extensive experience with every aspect of real estate investment. Prior to forming Arixa Capital, he was Vice President of Acquisitions at Standard Management Company, a highly regarded real estate investment and management company. He is also a regular speaker, moderator and panelist at various industry conferences and events.

Academic History

ARIXA CAPITAL

  • Brzeski launched Arixa in 2006 to reduce the unpredictable returns that so often come with investing in stocks or bonds.

  • He manages funds dedicated to making loans to real estate developers on single-family homes and small urban multi-unit residential and mixed-use developments.

  • He has participated in more than 1,600 real estate transactions, investing over $3 billion on behalf of Arixa's investors and partners. 


EARLY CAREER

  • Prior to forming Arixa Capital, Brzeski was Vice President of Acquisitions at Standard Management Company, a highly regarded real estate investment and management company founded by Samuel Freshman. 

  • His responsibilities included identifying properties to acquire, underwriting, and negotiating to purchase income property and land. 

  • He has originated loans from funds he manages throughout Coastal California and has also purchased properties including shopping centers, industrial projects, agricultural and development land in Los Angeles, Kern, Riverside, San Bernardino, Placer, and Yolo Counties in California.

  • Over the past decade, he has organized an annual Real Estate Investment Roundtable at UCLA's Anderson School of Management and is also a regular guest lecturer there.
